Mr. Samson with some of the children he serves. Surfside Church connected with Samson in 2022 and supports his feeding and education ministry to the orphans of Hinche, Haiti.
Meet Mr. Samson
We asked Samson why he started this ministry to the children in his community. This is his response (Google translated from Creole):
."I started feeding them in 2020, but small. The reason why I started giving them food is because many of them are on the streets begging because they have no one to help them, some of them are with the people they lived with.
Children are the future of all society. I decided to help them with the small amount that I had but that meant nothing to them because when they eat they always say that their bellies are not full. I started to help them go to school also.
[I do this] Because the Bible says that we must share what we have with the weakest. And another reason who made me decide to support the orphans, because when the children are hungry and do not go to school to educate, when they grow up they can become thieves, they can become gangs to destroy society, they will become a social danger.
That's why I started helping them and I will continue to ask God for his grace and love for helping me to take care the vulnerable children so that they can live and become human like all children without distinction."
Please help us meet our goal!
We’re raising money to drill a well in a community on the outskirts of Hinche, Haiti. This well will provide a source of clean reliable water for the community, especially the orphan children who are battling malnutrition.
Currently the residents gather water from pools of rainwater or walk long distances to other sources, carrying the water back with them. This is a groundbreaking project as there are no other mission organizations presently working in this remote area.
Surfside Church is working in partnership with Matthew Twenty-Eight ministry who is managing the project and who remains in close contact with Samson and his ministry to the children. Locally owned well drilling companies have bid on the project.
The well site survey is complete. We have bids from three local companies in Haiti, ranging from $12,000-$15,000 US dollars. Nearly $3,000 has been directly donated so far! We plan to meet our fundraising goal by January 2025.
Please give generously to this project. Your gift will help change the lives of an entire community.
