We are a growing Christ-centered congregation that serves Fort Pierce and Port Saint Lucie. Children are welcome. The music is current and the messages connect with every day life.
We are a diverse group that offers acceptance, love, and accountability as we do life together. We believe in second chances.
We celebrate the arts and are building music, drama, and visual arts teams.
We believe that our faith in Jesus Christ should be lived out in practical service in our surrounding community.
We believe that the Spirit of God is available to help us become better people over time, as we leave behind destructive habits and learn to follow the example of Jesus.
We know it can be awkward and uneasy coming to a new church. We were all first time guests too. We will try to help you feel at home.
Mark Young started Surfside Church in 2004 and serves as our senior pastor. He and his wife, Terri, have been married for 19 years. They are licensed foster parents and have been a second mom and dad to many children in our community.
Mark is ordained by the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) and has a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Growth & Development/Psychology from Washington State University, and an Associate of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the Florida Community College at Jacksonville.
He is the author of a nationally published curriculum on youth leadership in the church: Lay Speaking Ministries: Youth Basic Course.
Mark has a heart for those who have been hurt by past experiences with churches. He seeks to follow the example of Jesus Christ in how he lives life each day.
